The Little Souls: Kids' Questions about Life Volume 3 by Agnes Deglon is an educational children’s book. It is part of a series about the connection between the soul, the mind and the body. It deals with multiple themes which are all developed in language young children can understand, but which are perfectly relatable to adults as well as being precise and meticulous. The series’ aim is to answer the questions about life asked by Agnes’s boys and they are quite universal so this book is bound to help numerous parents (who would not know how to answer their own sons and daughters) and kids who need to be answered accurately. Agnes’s goal is a holistic one: she is focusing on the human being as a whole and their well being, as well as on the preservation of health rather than on curing disease. In this respect, discussing problems before they arise is of the essence.
The Little Souls by Agnes Deglon caught my attention because as a new step grandma I am very much enjoying selecting interesting books for my two little grandsons. And the cover of this amazing book did not mislead me. I loved everything about it: the way the author weaves together information about the universe, life, energy, matter… Agnes Deglon tackles extremely hard topics to discuss with young children: life and death, the soul, individualism, and dreams and nightmares … what we as human beings truly are, but also what we are facing or have to face regularly. The text, including the bear metaphor, is extremely well written and accessible to children from kindergarten onward. It is simple yet powerful, easy to follow yet deep. The illustrations are gorgeous and candid and help little ones understand the concepts easily. I highly recommend this book!
