New Dawn by Saumya Bansal is an ebullient celebration of a world full of opportunity and ripe with promise. Saumya Bansal’s poems refuse to accept defeat and, in so doing, scuttle any naysayers. These effervescent verses run joyfully like clear water over rocks. This young poet’s optimistic voice is, in a word, irrepressible. From ‘Blob of Paint’: “look at that ruined picture once more/stare awhile/do you see a wall or do you see a door?” Saumya Bansal writes of a world where open doors await, beckoning the reader to an endless array of bright new possibilities.
Bansal's poetry instantly charms readers. From ‘I am Poetry’: “I will let my words caress you/And find a place in your jaded heart/I will let you escape this four walled prison/And let you move to lands apart.” The challenge is not offered lightly. Saumya Bansal proves time after time in New Dawn that she is ready to convert cynics and deliver them, blinking and breathless, to the ‘change the world’ team. She writes with a particular brazen upbeat conviction that only the young and gifted can sustain with authority.
