The plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat, making it impossible to put the book down. The writing style was captivating, and I was easily pulled into Claire’s world. The characters felt genuine and relatable. Claire was my favorite; she was determined to uncover the reasons behind her assault and what had led her to end up in the hospital in such a state. Ben initially trailed Claire to see if she could help him regain his wife but discovered much more than he expected. The story was exceptionally written and held my interest throughout.

Adding to her trouble, when she was discovered, the blood of another person was found on her, and she became a suspect in the police investigation. But shortly after that, her memory comes back, together with new superhuman paranormal abilities. Claire escapes from the clinic and sets off on a mission to avenge herself and serve justice to those who harmed her. But will she succeed?

Eleanor Paterson’s Vengeance Awakened was a real treat for me because the story revolved around four themes I love: law, technology, England, and travel. It was also a blend of my favorite genres—crime fiction and psychological thrillers. And I instantly bonded with Claire. I loved shadowing Claire on her mission around England and in Egypt. I am not a scuba diver, but Claire’s discovery of Dugong made me envy her. Most of all, I liked the thought-provoking themes of Claire’s quest for justice using technology and her paranormal abilities, unauthorized medical experiments on humans, and corruption. I highly recommend this awesome story to action and psychological thriller fans. This is a 'wow' read!

Eleanor Paterson infuses this story with suspense and intrigue from the beginning to the end. The narrative arc is executed very well, from when the woman recovers her memory to the entry of new characters and scenes. The choice of the main character is compelling and challenging, given her age and extraordinary achievements before and during her revenge mission. The pacing is steady, marked by a balance of suspense, intrigue, anticipation, and light humor sprinkled throughout. Paterson keeps the action alive through the main character's relentless pursuit of revenge, while the unabated pursuit from the authorities further builds a high sense of anticipation. Themes of corruption, workplace prejudice, revenge, and starting life afresh are also explored. I highly recommend Vengeance Awakened to readers who love stories filled with suspense and intrigue.
