In Eddy The Teddy: 12 Rules To Trick Or Treating by Derek J. Kenmuir, we are taught the numerous rules of safety to follow. Some of the rules are: Have a clear plan and route. If you get lost, make sure there is a meeting place where your family could find you. Make sure your costume fits right. It’s important that you can see from your mask and that you won’t trip over your costume. Bring a flashlight so you are sure to be seen. Be sure to walk and don’t run; also do not knock on doors after a certain time, and if they look spooky, just skip and go to the next house. When you do go to a house, respect the property. Make sure to knock on the door or ring the doorbell. If no one answers, simply move to the next house. Be polite and say Trick Or Treat and Please, Thank You. Make sure that you have fun!
Eddy The Teddy by Derek J. Kenmuir is not only adorable but extremely informative to the young child who will be reading it. It’s important to follow a certain set of rules while going out for Halloween. These rules are laid out in a simple format that is entertaining, but also very educational at the same time. Along with the twelve rules, there are beautiful illustrations that go perfectly with the written text. The visuals make it easier for the young reader to understand. I think Eddy The Teddy: 12 Rules To Halloween is a smart and creative read that children will enjoy. It’s a book I'd definitely recommend to others.
