Because I said So!: Life in The Mom Zone, written by Annie Oeth, is a must-read for EVERY mother! Annie has a wonderful style of writing which allows the reader to feel an immediate connection and realize that she is not alone in this wonderful, but challenging role of being a mom. This book is divided into sections addressing such things as holidays, home, and growing up. Each section is well divided into the various stories shared in that category, making this a book that is easy to pick up and read when you have a moment. Being moms, we know that as soon as you sit down to do something is when someone needs something.
Annie Oeth’s Because I Said So!: Life in The Mom Zone is full of stories, lessons and reminders of why being a mom is so important and a role that is hard but filled with blessings. I read the foreword and was hooked on the book and did not want to stop reading. As Annie points out, none of us is perfect. We make mistakes, lose our tempers and being a mom is “the worst-paying, hardest job ever, but the fringe benefits are worth it.” This is oh so true! As she shares her stories, her “aha” moments, her moments of horror, I could not help but laugh, cringe and wipe away a few tears while all along being reassured that, yes, being a mom is the greatest blessing and role I will ever have.
