It has been fifteen years since Marlowe ‘Lowe’ Curan, then a freelance intelligence operative, had met his career's disgraceful and unannounced end. Now turned PI, the aging Lowe made ends meet by working for Tommy Astor, a well-connected Washington powerbroker. Things had been running smoothly until two murders hit the residence Lowe was renting. The deceased are Lowe’s landlady’s philandering husband and his mistress, both of whom the landlady had hired Lowe to investigate. Lowe and the landlady are the top suspects in the murders. Lowe has an alibi, except it can get him arrested. Who is behind the murders? But that is not all. Lowe’s stint in Leesburg may have gotten him into something bigger and more dangerous. He has unknowingly triggered a double-take from a vengeful US Deputy Marshal, the FBI, and Whisper, a powerful clandestine group. Discover how it all goes down for Lowe in Tj O’Connor’s The Whisper Legacy.

This white-knuckle page-turner will grab you, refusing to let go until the final word. Tj O’Connor’s The Whisper Legacy is a must-read for aficionados of fast-paced espionage and conspiracy thrillers blended with political intrigue, high-stakes drama, crime, thrills, action, and humor. Featuring an exciting, dynamic cast, O’Connor weaves an ingenious, layered plot. The storyline is run on a multi-perspective timeline, giving the narrative a beautiful flow. The cinematic descriptions brought the scenes to life on the pages. These and the first-person perspective voice, entwined with witty, introspective commentary, made it feel like I was watching a contemporary Hollywood espionage and crime thriller starring Josh Brolin or Ryan Reynolds. The edge-of-the-seat suspense, spell-binding cliffhangers, and jaw-dropping plot twists hooked me. The sharp, lively conversations gave depth to the cast’s conflicts, emotions, and complex traits. I loved this book. It is, without a doubt, a spycraft classic. I hope this is not the last I have seen of Lowe.
