Can you imagine how much fun it would be to have an extremely tall dinosaur as your best friend and go on adventures? She Who Walks Above the Trees by Jennifer Conklin is a charming children’s story about Anya, who has a dinosaur named Breck as her best friend. They loved roaming in the green forests and by the seashore. Their favorite thing was exploring new areas. Anya was enjoying playing in nature when she found a large egg. She cared for it until it hatched, then became best friends with the baby dinosaur. She named him Breck and would ride on his neck, high above the trees. As a result, she was called “She Who Walks Above the Trees.” This is a fun book for all readers and will become one of your child’s favorite picture books.
Jennifer Conklin uses great imagination in the story of young Anya and her pet dinosaur, Breck, who lived together one hundred sixty million years ago. She Who Walks Above the Trees uses simple words, telling an amazing adventure story that will keep your child’s interest and pique their interest in dinosaurs. Aaron Trudell masterfully illustrates the adventures the young girl and her pet enjoy. This book will open the door for many questions from your child. You can explain that reptiles (including dinosaurs) lay and hatch eggs just like birds do. One theme you can pursue with your child is the wonderful cycle of life. At the end of the story, Jennifer includes fun dinosaur and human facts. This book is certain to become one of your child’s favorites.
