Christina Foxwell grew up as the daughter of a Pentecostal minister in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Molested by a family member at a tender age, she struggled with issues of low self-esteem, anxiety, and lack of self-belief for her entire adolescent years, compounded by an ultra-conservative upbringing that prohibited her from fully expressing herself. Through The Glass Angel: Unlocking your Potential, a memoir/self-help guidebook, she uses her life experiences and knowledge as a successful performance and transformational coach to provide readers with valuable insights to lead a fulfilling life filled with love and compassion. Divided into three parts, the book contains an allegorical tale about two Alchemy Angels, her own life story, and tools for readers to heal from trauma and PTSD. She firmly believes that acceptance and love must first come from within before you expect it from the world.
The Glass Angel is an inspirational memoir that offers some universal truths that people from any section of society will find relatable. At times Christina Foxwell's story is heartbreaking, yet showcases the resilient spirit of humans that helped her survive domestic violence, PTSD, and multiple dysfunctional relationships and set her on the path to healing and forgiveness. She recounts how she managed to navigate the struggles life laid out for her as someone growing up in unjustifiable shame and humiliation and later as a single mother trying to raise a child after a failed relationship. Christina's story is an inspiration and an example of how people always have the inner tools to overcome adversity. Highly recommended.
