Sheila and Recluse by Randall Jarmon is the story of a criminal mastermind stopping other criminals who are just like him. Soon after 9/11, a group of terrorists entered the United States of America. These Iranian terrorists started killing Christians one by one for no apparent reason. However, these are no petty criminals, they were trained to evade the police and they managed to do that because they were following in the footsteps of a criminal mastermind.

The mastermind is "Recluse." He was an American spy during the Cold War and now these terrorists have perfected his art, using it to kill innocent people. These men are trained to think, act and evade like Recluse. The only man who can stop them is Recluse, but will he stand up for the innocent? Or is it too much to ask from a spy who is targeted by the KGB?

When I found out that Sheila and Recluse is a story by Randall Jarmon, I literally jumped at it. I previously read Winning Number by Jarmon and I loved it. He is simply a great story teller. You will find yourself lost in the story. You will forget to eat or sleep. The Recluse was such a dashing character. His mystique and his personality were amazingly descriptive. And the way he was introduced was just awesome. Pick it up and read it; you will not regret your decision.

In Sheila and Recluse by Randall Jarmon, we meet Adam North, who has the code name Recluse. Not long after the disaster of 9/11, a group of assassins came from Iran to America and began killing Christians. They were called “Serpents” and they used techniques that came from the Cold War, techniques that a man called Recluse was responsible for. Recluse was a hunted man, wanted by the KGB for many years, but is now retired at the age of 63. Unfortunately, he must come out of retirement because he is the only man that can catch the killers, killers who have been trained to think and work like he did. Recluse is a converted Christian and the hunt, together with Dr Sheila Wilson, will test his faith to the limits.

Sheila and Recluse by Randall Jarmon was an interesting book. Set in the time of a real-life disaster, the book strikes unerring parallels to the world we live in now, with Christians as the target. This is a strong story with very strong characters, and a good plot. It is quite scary how close to the truth this story really is and it is one of the things that made this a gripping read. It is a page-turner that I believe will suit any reader, regardless of whether they believe in Christianity or not. It is cleverly written, with plenty of twists in it and plenty of action. The characters are developed throughout the story, which adds another element of interest, as you need to keep reading to understand who they are and what makes them tick. Overall, a very enjoyable book, extremely well written and developed – I look forward to reading more from this author.
