Glimmers by Barbara Brooke is set in present time and is a story about a young housewife and mom, Paige, who discovers that she has a unique talent of experiencing life through someone else’s memories and feelings. Soon after the story begins, Paige starts having glimmers of memories that do not belong to her, but yet she feels strong emotions that make it seem as if they are her memories. Whenever Paige touches an item that meant a lot to someone, she is transported back to a particular memory of that person, and experiences life and emotions that individual was feeling at that time. She enjoys her new found gift, until she has a glimmer through her sister’s point of view. She discovers a shocking secret that could change their relationship forever.
What a wonderful and relaxing story! Barbara Brooke has a writing style that lures you into the lives of the characters of this tale. I felt as if I were a part of this imaginative story. I enjoyed reading Glimmers. It is an enchanting novel that lures you away from the problems in your own life, as you become wrapped up in the memories of others with Paige. It makes me wonder what memories and emotions some of my own possessions could possibly hold. I hope Ms. Brooke continues to write about the life of Paige. I feel as if this is a story that is just beginning. I cannot wait to read Beyond Glimmers.
