Extraordinary O Finds Her Superpower is a heartwarming children’s picture storybook written by Sara Bloomfield and Amy Sachse, with illustrations by Lena Bardy. The story follows Olivia Bloomfield, affectionately known as O by her family and friends. Olivia has limited use of her leg muscles and relies on a power wheelchair named Pinkie to help her get around. She loves to zoom around in it and wants to play with her friends at the park. However, the wood chips at the park get stuck in Pinkie's wheels, making it difficult for her to move and play. Inspired to create change, Olivia advocates for inclusive playgrounds designed for children of all abilities. She gives a powerful speech and discovers that her voice is a superpower capable of inspiring change and improving life for everyone.

Extraordinary O Finds Her Superpower is inspired by the real-life story of Olivia Bloomfield, who transforms her feelings of exclusion into a mission for advocacy and change through her voice. With her determination and activism, Olivia successfully influences her local community's approach to playground accessibility, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to play together. I appreciate how the story raises awareness about various disabilities, including blindness, deafness, and other physical challenges, reminding every child that they are special and unique. Sara Bloomfield and Amy Sachse use encouraging and kind words throughout the narration, with relatable characters that readers can easily connect with. Small details, such as the use of a dyslexia-friendly font and simple language, make it easy for young readers to read and understand the story. This also aligns perfectly with the book's message of inclusivity and kindness, ensuring that all children feel valued. The colorful illustrations bring the characters and the story to life. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend sharing it with your children because it will teach them valuable lessons about bravery, empathy, and inclusivity.
