Doctor Witch by Frank J. Edwards is a gripping medical thriller that blends psychological suspense with real-world urgency. Dr. Jack Forester, once a frontline emergency physician and now a medical school dean, finds his life upended when an old nemesis resurfaces in the form of an unhinged former colleague turned serial killer. As cyber threats loom and hospital walls close in, Jack is thrust into a high-stakes battle for survival, both professionally and personally. Alongside this chaos, he takes on the guardianship of his niece Kaitlyn, a brave teen trapped in a toxic home life who unwittingly stumbles into the villain’s sinister plot. Tautly written and emotionally resonant, the novel explores trauma, redemption, and the relentless pursuit of justice in a world where medicine and morality collide.

Author Frank J. Edwards has a keen sense of pacing and knows just how much of the next twist to reveal in this pulse-pounding thriller that never needs to sacrifice its heart. There’s a deeply considered commitment to character development from cover to cover that makes the characters seem chillingly real, and their psychological complexity keeps readers guessing about who to trust and how much. I loved Jack as a central figure and perfectly capable hero with authentic experience on the battlefield. He is developed with sensitive dialogue that keeps him vulnerable and capable of flaws, and that certainly adds to the stakes of the drama. The medical details of the work are also described well, bringing authenticity and grit from the ER to every page for maximum life-or-death threat. Overall, Doctor Witch is a highly recommend read for anyone seeking a unique blend of medical drama and cyber-noir suspense to keep you immersed from start to finish.

When a financial crisis threatens to sink New Canterbury Medical Center, and possibly the university attached to it, Jack Forester, former emergency doctor and current dean of the medical center, is desperate to salvage the situation. But Jack has a lot on his hands. Three years after losing his wife, Zellie, in a tragic car accident, Jack is still grieving and struggling to balance his role at the medical center with raising his five-year-old daughter, Julia, and his niece, Kaitlyn, who painfully reminds him of his wife. Things turn bizarre following a fatal car crash, a failed attempt to rescue the university, a murder in the hospital, and the kidnapping of Jack’s niece. The chaos unfolding is not accidental; there is foul play afoot. Jack Forester is up against an enemy from the past, one teaming up with the most powerful and dangerous villains he’s ever encountered in Doctor Witch by Frank J. Edwards.

Doctor Witch explores grief, guilt, and family dilemmas. It also shows how technology, particularly AI, can be both a tool for healing and a weapon for harm. While Damien Falconi uses it to treat diseases, the villains employ it to manipulate and wield havoc. From the scheming conspirators aboard Wiegatesland to the pandemonium unfolding in the medical center and the fragile relationship between Jack and his niece, Kaitlyn, the atmosphere is tense and uneasy. Despite everything Jack went through, I am taken aback by how he managed to trust strangers easily and remain open to them. Doctor Witch by Frank J. Edwards is for anyone who enjoys intense medical thrillers.

In Frank J. Edwards's Doctor Witch, Jack is a devoted emergency physician and faculty member at New Canterbury University. He's also a loving single father grappling with his wife's death while reassuring his young daughter that they will survive this ordeal together. In the wake of his growing work-related commitments, Jack receives rather distressing news that could impact the functionality of his medical center. His investigations lead him into the lair of a cybercriminal and a twisted serial killer with a devious motive for wanting the medical center to cease its operations. Simultaneously, he becomes the guardian of his niece, a young girl who comes from a dysfunctional family setting. When Jack's nemesis begins targeting the people close to him, it's up to him to confront this evil head-on. Hopefully, he lives to tell the tale when all's said and done.

Doctor Witch is an exhilarating suspense thriller crafted to keep readers glued to its pages. This third act within the Jack Forester series will keep your heart racing with every page you turn. Jack is an intriguing and good-natured character. He makes you feel everything he feels, making it easy to identify with his struggles and root for him from the start. Mystery and thriller fans will admire his willpower to balance his personal and professional life while pursuing the villain. Frank J. Edwards is a talented writer who knows how to skillfully blend mystery, medicine, and the quest for justice in this invigorating work of fiction. The author's experience in the medical profession is impressively evident in every chapter and adds context to Jack's emotions and perspective. In Frank J. Edwards' Doctor Witch, Jack Forester struggles with the grief of losing his wife and the challenges of managing a medical center. A looming financial crisis threatens the survival of Jack’s workplace, and the simplest solution appears to be selling it to Health Wealth Associates. During his investigation, Jack discovers instances of mismanagement and fraud. Jack’s pursuit of the truth puts him in the path of powerful people and a cybercriminal interested in the center’s bankruptcy. Jack is also caring for his niece Kaitlyn, whose stepmother has been sent away for rehabilitation, while Zoë looks after Julia, Jack’s daughter, and Kaitlyn. A serial killer who nearly took Jack's and his wife’s lives before her death has reemerged, now targeting Jack’s closest family members. This former associate has plotted to ruin Jack and the medical center with assistance from a cybercriminal.

Doctor Witch by Frank J. Edwards was an exhilarating journey filled with murder, danger, mystery, and a medical theme. The story was fast-paced and loaded with action that never let up. With so many twists and turns, I was constantly surprised by what would unfold next. The tension kept me engrossed, turning the pages as fast as possible. The characters felt realistic and relatable. Kaitlyn's situation with her stepmother was challenging, and she would do anything to protect Jack, Zoë, and Julia. The writing was exceptional and had all the elements needed for a remarkable medical thriller. From the beginning to the end, I was captivated by the engaging writing style. I truly enjoyed the book, and it far surpassed my expectations.

Doctor Witch is a suspenseful and well-written thriller that blends mystery, medical drama, and international conspiracies to create a highly addictive novel that's impossible to put down once you've started reading! Frank J. Edwards strikes the perfect balance between intrigue, authentic human interactions, and vulnerable character moments. He paints an astute picture of the raging power dynamics that operate behind the scenes within a hospital and the stringent policies associated with medical management and patient care. The pacing is unhurried but intensifies when the story zooms in on the antagonists, their shady operations, and their enticing story arcs. Overall, the narrative is fluent, the wit is well incorporated, the protagonists are valiant, and the storyline has sufficient action and plot twists to make this an entirely satisfying page-turner. I will be looking out for future installments in this series.
