Eris Rising: A Memoir of Finding the Warrior Within by Courtney Ramm is an unforgettable memoir about a woman who is abused by a relationship but comes back a winner. Being born from a genetic pool of genius doesn't make Courtney immune to the pitfalls in life. This sweeping story takes you from New York to Hawaii to Texas, as this driven woman is bent on becoming a major success. She has it all, even finding the man of her dreams, but it turns out he is her worst nightmare. Now placed in peril, she faces life-and-death challenges no woman should have to, but many often do. They say when you get knocked down, you have to get back up again, but can Courtney find the courage to do so?
What I like about this book is Courtney, and how she found the strength within herself to rise above the dangerous situation she was in. Courtney's story shows that it doesn't matter how brilliant or how successful, she is only human and falls into some of the same dreams, illusions, and patterns we all find ourselves in from time to time. For example, minimizing red flags, or not listening to your inner Dr. Phil. Feeling trapped, and sensing there is no good end to her circumstances, she digs deep and fights her way out. She is both vulnerable yet resilient, has a surprising sense of humor and saves lives, and does what she has to do to protect her children and herself. This is the kind of memoir that can help victims become champions. This writer knows how to tell a riveting story that connects to the heart and soul of the reader. Eris Rising: A Memoir of Finding the Warrior Within by Courtney Ramm is a personal story with a universal impact. Fans of Sleeping with the Enemy and Enough will love this book.
