One dark rainy spring afternoon, a shriek could be heard throughout the land as Lady de Piazza birthed a set of twins destined to rule the realm. Only one was to live; the other was murdered at the hands of the old hag mid-wife. Two decades later, with King Keban ruling the land of Perjha, a mystery surrounds the health of King Zulam many miles away. When King Keban visits Zulam’s kingdom, he meets the woman destined to own his own heart and mind. Unbeknownst to both monarchies, King Zulam is being slowly poisoned by his own “loyal” servant, leaving Princess Aria vulnerable to the evil plotting of her brother’s enemies. As Princess Aria is forced to live with King Keban until their marriage is announced, dark events threaten to destroy any happiness existent in either kingdom.
Mistrust, deceit, and ancient acts of treachery surround the characters of Dark Mirror Image by Anna del C. Dye as this classic story of enchanted royalty unfolds. A fast paced tale filled with vivid imagery makes this story one difficult to abandon. I thoroughly enjoyed this work but feel that some attention could enhance the story telling quality of Anna del C. Dye’s work. A tightly woven tale with fluidity and charm in the plot. Character strength is a definite plus. While the characters continuously attempt to over analyze one another, the honesty of their intentions sets this aside from the average love story. A must-read for fans of romantic fantasy and magical tales.
