You are Wonderfully and Beautifully Made by Lola Brooks is an adorable story about how a daughter questions her mother why her hair is brown and not red like her mother’s, and why her eyes were brown and not green like her mother’s. The mother explains to her that she is wonderfully and beautifully made and she is God’s unique creation and there is no one like her. The girl looks in the mirror and repeats to herself what her mother has told her; that she is wonderfully and beautifully made. The book conveys the beautiful message of loving yourself, accepting yourself, and being happy with what you have!
The story is cute and delightful and so are the illustrations. The pictures capture the essence of the author’s concept beautifully and breathe life into the scenes and the characters. It’s a good bedtime storybook and kids will enjoy listening to it before going to bed. It’s a good book for interactive sessions in classrooms and school libraries, too, where children are taught to love and appreciate what they have, accept themselves, and feel happy with their own selves.
Books with good messages, concepts, and morals are perfect for children to read as they understand the messages, concepts, and morals easily and with more clarity with the help of a story and illustrations. The little girl falling in love with herself and being happy with what has been given to her leaves readers with a good feeling!
