Sometimes, bad things happen in life, and we have no control over them. When Bad Things Happen: The Adventures of Mr. Fuzzy Ears, Book 3 is an illustrated children's book by Donna Carr Roberts that shows a few ways to navigate bad times. Mr. Fuzzy Ears wakes up to a bird singing outside his window and realizes that today is the Annual Canoe Race in the nearby canal, where he will be refereeing the race for his friends. Along with his siblings, Sofie, Izzy, and Teddy, Mr. Fuzzy Ears is on his way when Dad announces that Mom is sick and he is going to take her to the hospital. After a competitive race, Mr. Fuzzy Ears and his siblings return home. But Izzy abruptly falls sick, and even the doctors can't cure her. How will her parents and siblings react?
When Bad Things Happen is a heartfelt tale about navigating loss and grief and remembering the best memories spent with a loved one who has passed away. We can't control everything that happens in life, but we can still cherish the beautiful moments spent with our loved ones.
