Timothy's Lessons In Good Values - Volume 2 by Christopher Gordon is a children’s book on the importance and instillation of good values in children. In this book, Timothy, a young boy, is the protagonist and he tells his story and experiences in his own words. The book is organized into four sections: the values of obedience, responsibility, and kindness, and a fourth section which is a coloring section for kids. In this book, Timothy narrates his experiences with his friends and classmates when they lapse in their behavior or words. Timothy then dons his Warrior of Good Values suit and provides lessons by example on how to be obedient and follow rules, how to behave responsibly in situations, and also the importance of kindness to everyone and to fight against bullying. The book is accompanied by colorful illustrations throughout that complement the story.
Timothy's Lessons In Good Values is a fairly interactive book in the sense that at the end of each section, there is a small question and answer session available for parents and teachers to discuss with the child. It encourages the child to think for themselves and learn about these values themselves, which I liked and appreciated. The story is simple and can be read aloud easily to a class. The writing style is succinct. I thought the accompanying pictures were fun and children will love to draw and color the last few pages provided for this purpose. Overall, this is a book with a message that should help parents and teachers to teach youngsters about good values at a young age.
