I am an experienced elementary teacher of seventeen years with a love for reading and writing. I hope to instill the love of books in children. My first children's book was inspired by my 2010-2011 third grade class. I wove their personalities, interests, and themes of their favorite stories into the book titled "The Time Travel Storm". I have completed a second book, "The Time Travel Star", and hope to start a Time Travel Series.
I am currently working on a young adult novel using my teenage daughters as a sounding board for the issues that are relevant to young adults.
Teaching children and writing stories for them to enjoy is a true blessing.

"The Time Travel Storm," written by TC Booth and illustrated by Juan Carlos Colla, is a fun, educational book to share with children. It will teach them about going to school in the 1800's. Alex and Scott become separated from their class on a school field trip to a historic village during a storm. They run into the first building they come to and the boys find themselves wearing clothes from the 1800's and in the midst of a classroom from this time period, complete with writing with feathers and ink. The boys learn first-hand about the time period and when they meet up with their classmates, they are shocked to discover that the people they met and interacted with are no longer there and they are in their "normal" clothes.
This is a cute story about taking a field trip and being transported back in time! Children will enjoy the whole mystery aspect to it as suddenly they are transported back in time during a random storm and then later everything magically returns to normal. The illustrations are well done and go along well with the text of the story. This would be a great book to use with children when trying to teach them about life in the 1800's and it could lead to great discussions about what if one was able to go back in time and experience different time periods first hand. This is an excellent book that will be enjoyed by children!
