Author Biography

Hello! I'm Tony Knapp—author and fellow book lover. I currently split time between California and Tennessee so I can be close to family and explore new places. After 33 years as an educator, I retired to chase writing, another passion. As a student of political intrigue, I earned a Master's Degree in National Security. Here, I met many remarkable individuals whose primary goal was to serve their country and their God with honor and dignity. These individuals inspired my novels.

An Autumn Mist is an adventure about secrets, love, and loyalty. Our heroes prove themselves willing to sacrifice all they hold dear for something greater than themselves. Ultimately, a story about ordinary men and women who, when facing their greatest fears, do the extraordinary.

A Summer Storm, my second book, continues the journey of Jason McCullough, Lizzy Locke, and Ryan Fletcher. Once again, they face evil, powerful forces threatening all they hold dear. New characters share bonds of love and loyalty while struggling to exist in the world of spies.

My third book, A Tempest in Winter, thrusts our heroes into their most dangerous battle yet. After a new enemy launches a deadly campaign to instigate war on the Korean Peninsula, Hawk, Lizzy, and the covert ops Team, Triple-A, face a ruthless and terrifying opponent. In the horrifying aftermath of a massive attack, the team races to stop even greater destruction.

If you enjoy the works of Jack Slater, Clancy, Ludlum, or Flynn, I think you'll really enjoy my books!

In A Tempest in Winter by Tony Knapp, Jason "Hawk" McCullough, a former prisoner with PTSD from his time in a North Korean gulag, endeavors to reintegrate into civilian life and reconnect with Lizzy, a CIA operative and his therapist. Hawk is on a dual mission: he aims to find Greg Ro, who was instrumental in his rescue, and locate the kidnapped family of Captain Elias Tacker, their late mentor. As Hawk leads a covert operations team, other issues arise with Lizzy. There is a great deal of guilt over the past capture. Their efforts ratchet up when they uncover a terrorist plot orchestrated by Pak Ro in London, threatening a series of bombings. With the stakes reaching a fever pitch, both Hawk and Lizzy race against time to prevent further attacks while juggling their relationship and a string of unresolved trauma.

A Tempest in Winter by Tony Knapp is the gift that keeps on giving. It is a tightly constructed thriller with a unique plot and strong character development, each one with their distinctive features. Knapp provides plenty of anxiety, some moments that are stylistically familiar like Lizzy rifling through an office for files while the sound of footsteps approaches, to more original moments that are fresh and exciting. Knapp's strength lies in depicting the psychology of his characters, allowing these triggers to insert themselves into their choices. The writing style is sharp, the settings are described cinematically, and the dialogue comes across as authentic. Knapp has crafted a standout thriller that is both thoughtful and thoroughly entertaining, taking readers on an exhilarating ride. I am looking forward to what comes next from his pen. Very highly recommended.

A Tempest in Winter by Tony Knapp concludes the Hawk McCullough action thriller trilogy. Jason was intimidated into eliminating Samuel Ro, also known as The Dragon. Once The Dragon was dealt with, his brother, Pak Ro, referred to as the Shaman, took control of the operation. Jason sensed that something sinister was coming, something that could potentially ruin everything dear to him. Frederik Alton was designated Inspector General to investigate FBI Agent Ryan Fletcher. Ryan's instincts indicated that Alton's story was off, and he was willing to jeopardize his career to discover the truth. The Shaman had abducted an innocent family, making it Jason and his team's main goal to rescue them. Their only chance of locating the family depended on information from their informant, but they had not received any word from him in a considerable time.

A Tempest in Winter by Tony Knapp grabbed my attention right from the beginning. It was fast-paced and jam-packed with action that never let go. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, and it was hard to put the book down until I finished reading. The international landscape was skillfully designed, and I felt as though I traveled from one country to another while accompanying the main characters in their quest to find The Shaman. The events were described so clearly that I could truly feel the tension and danger. The characters were well developed and engaging. The writing was exceptional, holding my attention throughout. I found it nearly impossible to turn the pages fast enough. I very much enjoyed reading this exhilarating, action-filled thriller.

A Tempest in Winter is the thrilling finale to Tony Knapp's Hawk McCullough Action Thriller Series. In this engaging read, covert ops Team Triple-A faces a devastating new threat as Pak Ro, The Shaman, ignites a deadly conflict on the Korean Peninsula. With Hawk, Lizzy, and their team fighting to stop the global catastrophe that follows The Shaman's brutal attack on London, they must rely on old friendships and forge new alliances. As personal and professional stakes rise, they race against time to save thousands of lives, culminating in an explosive showdown that challenges their resilience and unity. Knapp delivers a masterful finale that is sure to satisfy series fans by tying up all the loose ends, and it had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. His expertise in crafting action sequences creates a cinematic experience that makes readers feel like they're right alongside Team Triple-A during their mission, with sharp and imaginative scenes that create instant images in readers' heads.

The seamless blend of political intrigue with personal stakes adds new complexity to what could have been a straightforward action thriller, while Tony Knapp's vivid descriptions of international settings bring each location to vibrant life. This is all layered around the action without ever overwhelming it. I was particularly impressed by how the author maintains the intensity of the plot while still developing the characters in meaningful ways, allowing readers to connect with their personal struggles amidst the chaos. What makes this book special is the command and confidence of the narrative, balancing the grand scale of global catastrophe with those intimate moments between characters, creating an emotional investment that had me caring deeply about the outcome of every confrontation. Overall, A Tempest in Winter is an exceptional conclusion to the series that I wholeheartedly recommend to any reader who enjoys sophisticated action thrillers with plenty of heart.
