Tara Alemany defies a simple definition. A born-again Christian since August 1997, she is also a professional speaker, martial artist, musician, short-term missionary, mentor, juggler, sometime Bible study leader, and friend.

Every day, she is Mom to 2 teenagers (one of each), who have taught her more about God’s love and forgiveness than anyone else possibly could.

They live together with Brody the cat and Falcore and Bear, Frank’s two dogs, in Connecticut.

Tara’s other titles include The Plan that Launched a Thousand Books, The Character-Based Leader, My Love to You Always, and Celebrating 365 Days of Gratitude (2013 ed.).

In addition to writing and speaking, Tara is the owner of Aleweb Social Marketing, a consulting company that builds online platforms (websites, social profiles, and engagement strategies) for authors and speakers.

The Plan that Launched a Thousand Books: A DIY Guide to Creating Your Book Marketing Plan by Tara R. Alemany should be one of the books on your list if you are a writer and plan to publish your book on your own (or if you have a hopeless publisher). In this book, you will learn more than just how to promote your book on Facebook and Twitter. The author has quite a bit of experience when it comes to what makes a book sell, and what not. Not all of the advice in the book might be suitable for you - or you might not feel comfortable with all of them, but with a choice of more than 25 different ideas, you should find one or the other thing that will help you to turn your book into a success, i.e. sell more than just a few copies to people you know.

The Plan that Launched a Thousand Books: A DIY Guide to Creating Your Book Marketing Plan by Tara R. Alemany was not only informative, but also well written. And often non-fiction books are such a bore to read! I loved the writing style and found most of the tips and advice on how to make your book more attractive to readers and bookshops very useful. I will definitely use some of them when I finally finish my book. The book is entertaining and insightful at the same time. You could not ask for more.
