"The Last Minute" by Jeff Abbott is the third book in the 'Sam Capra Series'. Actually book two "Last Chance" was a very short story that allowed the readers to know what has happened. Sam Capra, an ex CIA Agent, has been trying to free his kidnapped son. His ex-wife committed treason against the CIA leaving Sam’s life in chaos. The kidnappers want Sam to commit murder. Their target is the one person who can expose. The Nine Sons, a group of criminals, gave Sam an ultimatum; kill the target or never see his son again. Sam and Leonie, a woman who lost her daughter to the kidnappers, team up to rescue their children. As the minutes tick down, the chase is on.

I suggest reading these books in order. I had not read the first book "Adrenaline". At times I was not sure what I had missed and that left me a little confused. This book is very good and can stand alone. However, it would have been better to read the books in order. There are plenty of twists and turns in the book that will keep the reader involved and eager to see what is around the next corner or rooftop. It was a little slow at first and then each of the characters came to life as they developed their own identity. New ones entered and others were put on the sideline only to emerge as stronger persons later in the plot; it was at this point that I truly felt involved in the book and did not want to put it down. If you are looking for a thriller dealing with espionage and murder, then I think you will enjoy the 'Sam Capra Series'.
