Victoria Saccenti’s The Last Danaan perfectly complemented Titanian’s Phoenix. I have had the pleasure of reading both books in order and found the developing plot captivating. The characters in the first book still appear, and Kailen's and Talaith's connections with them continue to develop. I could fully understand the hesitation Talaith had in showing her emotions to Kailen. He did a lot to dismiss her overtures and was distrustful of her intentions. I didn’t expect how quickly Kailen changed his thoughts about Talaith, especially after his vow never to love another woman since Nadrine died. The story’s pace is one of my favorite aspects because it held my attention, and I found myself unable to stop reading until I reached the end. The open ending leads directly into another book in the series. I would recommend this 5-star fantasy romance to any adult reader that enjoys shifter stories. The ability to look through their eyes and feel what Talaith and Kailen feel is effortless and makes this book a delight. I look forward to more stories in The Titanian Chronicles.

I found it pretty straightforward to get into the world’s lore, the history, and the characters’ backstories so far, and the plot sets off at a blistering pace with plenty of excitement from the off. Saccenti builds sexual tension like a master of the craft, with slick dialogue and vivid, cinematic descriptions that will give readers a wonderful insight into the passion and emotion behind every action of the central pair. This is well balanced and delivered at appropriate moments in between the climactic fantasy battle plot for a well-rounded reading experience that is always exciting. Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Last Danann to fans of the existing series and for newcomers looking for a worthy new writer to absorb. A sensational sizzling read.
