The False Princess: The Sitnalta Series, Book 5 by Alisse Lee Goldenberg is the story of a princess who grew up a little too fast, but now she has to make some decisions that are making her question everything and everyone. Princess Sitnalta is finally coming of age and, with that, she has to make some really big decisions. Duke Sparrow is looking for revenge for the death of his close friends and he believes he can exact that revenge by ensuring that Princess Sitnalta is not fit to rule her nation.
To ensure his plan succeeds, Duke Sparrow creates havoc in the lives of anyone who loves Sitnalta and whom Sitnalta loves. Every time something new happens in the lives of her peers, she questions whether she should rule her people. With her world crashing down around her, Sitnalta is rethinking her past and her present and that is forcing her to make some hard choices. She needs to find a way or else she will have to choose between the safety of her family and the prosperity of her people. She cannot have both, so what will she do? Which path will she choose?
An interesting and hugely engaging story, I loved The False Princess! Although I have not read the previous novels in the series, I had no problems in understanding the flow of the story and catching up with the characters. Sitnalta is a strong character; she is not afraid to make changes and then make sure that they come to fruition. I enjoyed her determination and how she was ready to take the necessary actions for her people and her family. The flow of the novel was great; it was fast paced and gripping. I thoroughly enjoyed this coming of age story! A brilliant read, and I loved the cover.
