It is rare for me to define a book as a “definitive guide.” However, Brian Meert’s The Complete Guide to Facebook Advertising deserves this title. This is an updated edition of the book, necessary considering how Facebook has changed in the last few years. Written in clear and simple language, The Complete Guide to Facebook Advertising is a valuable resource. It explains why advertising on Facebook is different and why it is worth the effort. It starts with the basics, explaining unclear terms and how to set up an account and business page. Then, it describes the different types of ads, where to display them, how to run a campaign, how to measure its effectiveness, and every other element a Facebook advertiser needs to know.
Meert is an expert and his knowledge of the subject allows him to explain it clearly. Many illustrations show how to accomplish a determinate action or process, and the texts carefully describe every passage. The greatest merit of The Complete Guide to Facebook Advertising is that it clarifies what a wonderful tool Facebook is for your marketing strategy - if you know how to use it. In the end, you will be the one who has to know what your strategy is. Businesses are different, and so are their tactics. However, Meert offers good advice and interesting hints that will limit the risk of making mistakes. He also considers other platforms like Instagram, offering a complete analysis. I enjoyed reading The Complete Guide to Facebook Advertising. It is a detailed and stimulating read that will help everyone interested in Facebook ads. It is highly recommended.
