“Seven Point Eight: The Second Chronicle” by Marie Habron is the second book in the “Seven Point Eight Series”, a dramatic story with science fiction, fantasy, paranormal and romance elements. In the second chronicle, we learn more about the backgrounds of the characters Ava and Sam, who only played minor roles in the first chronicle. The main story-line focuses on Tahra, the talented remote viewer. In the second chronicle, she develops a talent for more than just remote viewing which makes her even more interesting and desirable for military bosses. And they won't stop until they get what they want. The book takes us through different countries and explores their cultural significance in relation to exploring other dimensions, e.g. Egypt and its pyramids. Chapter after chapter, the reader realizes the connection between Tahra and the other characters. Will that connection ruin their lives?
“Seven Point Eight: The Second Chronicle” by Marie Habron doesn't focus as much on what happens in other dimensions as the first chronicle. There are reasons for this which make sense (I won't give you spoilers though!) but you can't help but want to learn even more about those other dimensions because Marie Habron describes them in such vivid details and makes you really see those worlds in front of your mental eye. She also makes sure that you don't feel too sure about knowing what will happen next. You move from chapter to chapter and get really upset about the developments and wonder how the problems could ever be solved. Many authors don't manage to twist their characters around like that and often don't dare to let them do things that are very questionable. Many authors get too attached to their characters to let them suffer or do bad things. There is often a clear line between good and evil characters. Don't look for that line here. Marie Habron knows no mercy and you can never be sure about what will happen next. Some of the bad things you see coming and you hope you are wrong about them. It doesn't happen very often that a book is so engaging and entertaining but also philosophical. Usually you get action without thought or philosophy without action. This book unites both and never gets boring.
