Rosie's mom always made her feel as if she was the most beautiful girl in the whole world. She told Rosie that she had a smart mind, a strong body, and a beautiful heart. Rosie believed her mom till she met Penelope Pennington who she thought had perfect hair and wore perfect clothes and shoes. Rosie thought even her cat was perfect. Penelope Pennington was rude to Rosie and her dog, Sasha, and Rosie wanted to get far away from her and her cat. One day Penelope wanted to go home for lunch and she asked Rosie to walk with her. As they walked home together, Rosie realized Penelope was not as perfect as she thought she was. Let's read the story to find out what happened on the way.

Rosie Leads the Way by Renee Irving Lee is an adorable story that will help readers believe in themselves, appreciate themselves, and accept themselves for who they are and what they have. The story will help young readers embrace their smart minds, strong bodies, and beautiful hearts. Lisa Coutts makes the concept palpable and clear to readers with her wonderful illustrations. They also breathe life into the characters of Rosie and Penelope and help readers connect with them. It is a good story for tutors and parents to read out loud to children to encourage them to be happy with themselves and also to realize that no one is perfect.
