Poetry and Attitude by Zipporah Rayne is an excellent, eclectic book of poetry with several rhetorical devices of note. For starters, the rhyme scheme used is unique to Rayne's writing, and is also a strong indication of her literary background. Most writers struggle to find their voice and rhythm, but not Rayne. She has a natural ability of finding words that flow together in such a way that appears to be effortless. Rayne's work is also strongly rooted in religion and faith in God. The spirituality she shows through her work will relate to that of her readers. Rayne talks about the internal combative nature of religion, and trying to find God in her life throughout various experiences; this is something that all individuals, religious or not, experience in their own way through existentialism. Rayne therefore becomes a voice for these people, someone who can put into words what the average person feels when reaching out to God.
Her work, which is comprised of her experiences, has no particular structure in regards to time, but one is not necessary. The "plot", so to speak, within her poetry is much more naturally occurring, not chronological. Her style also changes from poem to poem; the line breaks, the way each poem has its own structure, keep readers interested and on their toes, never knowing what profound concept Rayne will experiment with next. Rayne is one who will go far, given her ability to relate to her readers and effectively write about the human experience through her poetic voice.
