Passports and Pacifiers: Traveling the World, One Tantrum at a Time by Kaitlyn Jain takes readers on a wonderful journey along with two parents and four children on eight trips that are memorable and will keep readers entertained. This book can be called part memoir and part guide. It gives good tools and techniques to parents of small children on how to entertain their kids during long flights, how to pack light yet bring the stuff that is required, drive with a toddler who is prone to car-sickness, and keep their spouses happy. Travel exposes children to intangible benefits; it not only expands their perception but also teaches them compassion while exploring new cultures. The adventures shared are funny and will leave readers smiling as they read about the Jains and their escapades.
Passports and Pacifiers is different from the usual travel stories one gets to read and that makes it original and interesting. Kaitlyn Jain is honest and vocal when it comes to sharing their travel adventures. Her narrative will pull readers in to experience their travel stories from Italy and ending six years later across Scandinavia. The 'Lessons Learned' box is quite helpful to readers looking for travel tips to help them while planning their travels and while traveling. The pictures shared make it easy for readers to connect with the author and understand her easily. The stories and adventures will encourage readers to travel to foreign lands and new destinations by figuring out their travel goals and aiming for them.
