A nurse fights to prove her patient's innocence when a serial killer attacks and brutalizes young mothers in the psychological thriller, Once Upon a Murderous Delusion by A.G. Russo. On Nella's first day in the psychiatric wing at Parkhirst General Hospital, she admits Steven to the unit and immediately connects with him. Earlier that day, someone murdered a nineteen-year-old mother in the park. The murder shocks and upsets the residents of Parkhirst as that kind of horror is unheard of in their small community. However, another young mother dies in the same horrific way, and the police realize they may have a serial killer in their midst. The town looks at the psychiatric unit at the hospital with hostility. It is the first place the police looked for suspects. Steven is their prime suspect, but Nella knows he is not guilty despite the circumstantial evidence against him. Turning to her new friends from the unit, Nella compels them to help her prove his innocence. Unfortunately, the killer is escalating his violence, and the bodies are piling up. Can Nella and her group find the actual murderer before it is too late? Or will she be his next victim?

Edgy and provocative, Once Upon a Murderous Delusion by A.G. Russo is a sensational psychological thriller that depicts the cunning mind of a sociopathic killer. This exciting page-turner with its riveting storyline and compelling characters is one of those books you can't put down once you pick it up. Intense and dramatic, the story flows at a fast pace keeping the suspense and imagination alive. The bloody, horrifying scenes and depraved murderer are nightmare-inducing and are redolent of a horror film. I appreciated how the author incorporated some of the Vietnam War veterans' hardships into the storyline. It is a brilliant thriller that had me sitting on the edge of my seat from the first page until the astounding conclusion. Skillfully written, it is a chilling story that will entertain everyone who relishes thrillers with a psychological element. Due to violence and explicit language, this book is more suitable for mature readers.
