Lexi Lyrewood has her heart set on joining Crimson and his crew of young survivors with interesting talents. Before her acceptance as a member of the group, she must first train her body and mind in preparation for the rigors that accompany hunting the dangerous creatures lurking in the dark corners of their world. Nothing prepares her for the intensity of the training or the long-buried secrets that surface as her new team members reveal their innermost desires. They prepare for what they believe will be the final assault that will ultimately turn the tide in their desperate struggle for survival in Damon Peel’s The Killer Hunter, Book Two.
The Killer Hunter, Book Two, features epic battles between gods and mortals. To maintain continuity, Damon Peel includes a thorough recap at the beginning of the novel. The dialogue targets a young adult audience, with conversations among the heroes revolving around relationships and the struggle for social acceptance. Peel presents uniquely crafted profiles for each antagonist the group faces, detailing their transformations into creatures that will appeal to paranormal fans. The battles are portrayed in vivid detail as he expertly blends first-person perspectives from each character. A brisk pace enhances suspense and fully engages readers throughout the unfolding narrative. A notable aspect of Peel’s style is the subtle humor, which shines through even in grim sequences where characters meet their demises in bloody ways. Fans of action, horror, and adventure genres will appreciate it just as much as I did.
