Navigating the Relationship Landscape: Photo-Coaching, Book 2 is a nonfiction self-help book about relationships written by Gabriela Casineanu. Casineanu is a certified Professional Coach who found that photographs can be helpful in facilitating the coaching process. Using “speaking” photographs helps her provide her clients with starting points when they are having trouble articulating issues. In her first book, she presented photographs designed to help readers practice self-reflection as a means to understanding who they are and enriching their lives. This book uses her theory for understanding and improving relationships. We all have relationships: family, friends, coworkers, bosses and even those vendors or service people we come into contact with on a daily basis. Casineanu discusses how we interact with relationships in different ways. She provides readers with a collection of photographs and accompanying questions that will help increase their understanding of the dynamics of each relationship and show ways to improve and facilitate growth in the relationship.
Navigating the Relationship Landscape: Photo-Coaching, Book 2 is an inspirational guide to understanding how one interacts with others. The images Casineanu uses in this book are beautifully photographed and presented, and they work quite well as launching sites for relationship work. I especially liked her emphasis on nature photography, particularly her ocean and maritime images, and I found her chapter detailing the “essential pillars of any great relationship” and its accompanying image of wooden pilings to be very evocative and meaningful. I also liked the interactive feeling this book gives readers with its spaces that allow it to be used as a workbook or journal. Navigating the Relationship Landscape: Photo-Coaching, Book 2 is most highly recommended.
