Pogpog and the Magic Grapes is a children’s picture book by Ebba Kay. The story follows Pogpog, a cheerful pig living in a magical land. Pogpog dislikes eating his vegetables, which disappoints his mother. One day, after a fun-filled day of play, Pogpog and his friend Moonchi discover a bunch of grapes that have accidentally fallen from the cloak of a mysterious hooded figure they encountered. Moonchi eagerly begins to eat the grapes, believing he has stumbled upon a stroke of luck. However, Pogpog stops him, realizing that taking something that does not belong to them is wrong. He decides to return the grapes, and in appreciation for his honesty, he is rewarded with a special gift that makes eating his vegetables fun and flavorful.

Pogpog and the Magic Grapes is a charming story that teaches children the importance of honesty, kindness, and eating healthily. It introduces lovable characters with relatable traits. Many children often resist eating their vegetables, and it would be easy for them to take what does not belong to them without considering the repercussions. Through this engaging narrative, readers learn about the value of integrity, both with strangers and loved ones, as well as the significance of making healthy choices. The book serves as a useful resource for sparking discussions about honesty and nutrition with your children, making it both entertaining and educational for the entire family. Ebba Kay uses simple language that appeals to young readers, while Lorena Mifsud's vibrant illustrations bring the characters to life. Pogpog is adorable with a red bow tie and a distinctive face, while Moonchi is a pig with a single tooth and a cheerful spirit. Kids will fall in love with this pair and enjoy their adventure. I appreciated the blend of fun and valuable lessons about honesty and healthy living.
