Mind Your Movement: Six Essential Physical and Mental Tools To Stay Active As You Age by Laura V. Dow removes the anxiety and fear of exercising, gyms, and people’s opinions in the most uplifting way. The author has written a book that is easy to read and understand and makes a person realize that to breathe is to exercise and grow; then to add correct posture, balance, physical activity, mind, and self-worth. Most people at some stage in their lives have been ridiculed and made to feel stupid for trying to lose weight or get fit by exercising. When people see size, they immediately think that the person is lazy, eats too much, and is a couch potato.
Mind Your Movement by Laura V. Dow is a must for someone who is trying to get fit, lose weight, and stay healthy as the years advance. The author encourages the use of a gym or personal trainer but also shows how if the funds are not there, there are other ways in which a person can get fit and keep fit. The encouragement is gentle but persistent and gets the reader thinking and working out how to set goals and keep to them. You will reach the point of growing within yourself and finding that there is a beautiful new world out there that you have been hiding from, using your weight and lack of fitness as an excuse to stay at home and hide from society. Of all the exercise books I have read over the years, this has been the most interesting and encouraging. It is easy to follow and makes the reader immediately think about starting an exercise regimen that would help with mobility and mental health. This book has encouraged me to get back into a routine. Thank you, Laura, for this enlightening guide.
