On Tuesdays after school, Hildy went to her swimming class and on Thursdays, she went for her ballet class. On Saturday mornings Hildy went for her chorus class and on Sundays, she would play all day. Hildy loved the fact that she did different things on different days and her calendar had pictures on it which reminded her of what activities she had for each day of the week. Hildy was a good eater and she liked most foods. Her favorite food was spaghetti but Hildy had a problem. She did not like any vegetable that was green. Her mother tried to convince her that green vegetables were good and she had to eat them to become grow up strong. Would Mimi start eating green vegetables and, if so, what would be her strategy?
Mimi's Strategy: What to Do When the Vegetables Are Green by Linda Goudsmit is an interesting story that helps young readers understand the importance of eating green vegetables. Not many children like having vegetables and the story of Hildy will encourage youngsters to include vegetables in their diet and become strong and healthy. Xavier Pom brings the characters and the author's concept to life with his lively and charming illustrations. It is a good book for parents and tutors to read out to their children and students to help them enjoy eating vegetables. They can try out Mimi's strategy on their kids and get them to start liking vegetables.
