Me Tawk Funny by Neil McFarlane is an entertaining children's book about a boy named Hector and his dog, Buster. One day Buster accidentally swallows a super-intelligence potion and becomes super-smart, even smarter than his owner! Buster learns to talk and goes to school with Hector. But there's a villain on the loose, and the villain is Hector and Buster's teacher! Professor Evil is robbing banks and almost no one can stop him. The city is in need of a superhero, and Buster's just the dog to do it. Buster becomes the superhero Captain Canine and goes to fight Professor Evil, but Professor Evil has the antidote for the super-intelligence potion! Will Captain Canine get the better of Professor Evil, or will he be defeated in the process?
I really enjoyed Me Tawk Funny. The book has everything: talking dogs, superheroes, evil teachers, and action. I was hooked by the first page. The book had many funny parts. The characters were very likeable and relatable, because many people feel dumb sometimes, just like Hector. Me Tawk Funny was fast-paced and exciting. I really liked Buster, because he was smart, but he didn't brag, and he was very loyal. The book has a few plot twists that made reading it even more enjoyable. The story was well developed and well thought out. All the characters had different and unique personalities. Me Tawk Funny is the perfect book for children of all ages.
