Magical Elements of The Periodic Table: Presented Alphabetically by The Metal Horn Unicorns by Sybrina Durant is a creative educational book for children. It contains fascinating facts about twenty-five elements and one alloy of the periodic table. Each member of the Metal Horn Unicorn Tribe is associated with a specific metal. Their magical powers are also based on the metals they represent. The work explains where elements such as copper, zinc, and uranium are found and includes lesser-known elements such as erbium, osmium, and vanadium. It also explains how brass is produced. It includes informative details such as when the elements were discovered, their atomic structure, how they were used historically, and their uses today. Other facts specific to each element are also included.
The information is presented using delightful characters that children will love. The elements are arranged alphabetically which makes it easy to find a specific element. Useful definitions are also added at the end which will help young readers understand the meaning of the technical terms used. I loved the bright illustrations included which helped me recall the details and uses of each element. Children will enjoy the colorful unicorns and will love singing along with them. The information is also comprehensive and offers an in-depth understanding of each element which will be useful for children learning about the periodic table. Magical Elements of The Periodic Table by Sybrina Durant is a fun and informative children’s book with imaginative illustrations and captivating content. It is a great addition to every child’s library.
