In Jeni’s Brush With Fate by AP Bazeley, Jeni, a famous and accomplished author, sets out to look for a date that her friend Jo will hopefully like. Jeni turns to internet dating and after a long search she finds him; Fernando Alverez, a possible match for her dear friend. It turns out Fernando lives close to where Jeni and Jo live, the west coast of Scotland, and a lunchtime meeting is swiftly arranged. Jeni leads the unsuspecting Jo to the date. Jo quickly takes to him as Jeni chats with Jackson, a friend of Fernando's. After having a lovely time, they set a date for another meeting. The day comes but Fernando fails to show up, something unlike him. Jackson, Jeni, and Jo begin looking for clues as to where he could be. They soon realize he could be in more danger than they initially thought.
What begins as a charming love story in AP Bazeley’s Jeni’s Brush With Fate quickly turns to a baffling and dangerous mystery. The contrast between the peaceful start and the turn of events that follow makes the story captivating. The work also includes many humorous moments that break the uneasiness that grows from the events surrounding the mystery. Moments when the characters experience dangerous situations make the story suspenseful. The unexpectedness of Fernando’s disappearance and later the kidnapping of other characters in the work keep the plot moving forward as it builds anticipation. Jeni’s Brush With Fate follows an absorbing mystery wrapped up in a delightful love story. It is a treat for fans of mystery stories that contain a touch of romance.
