In Isaac Rooks Trailwalker by J.R. Pitts, two doppelgangers are living in opposite worlds. They are living in worlds that are similar and different at the same time, just like these two men. Born at the moment when the gate between the two worlds was opened, the child who should have been born on Earth is now in Eden and the child who should have been born in Eden is on Earth. Now, twenty-two years later, Isaac Rooks and Jack Trailwalker must find their true selves. If they can (or the one who finds his true identity first) find their true identity, they will have a future that will be the envy of others.
But once the two men are in their right universes, things are not as they should be. The idyllic worlds have their evils and beings that are capable of doing things that destroy everything. Can Jack and Isaac understand their true worth and find their rightful destinies? Or will they fall prey to the forces that can destroy their future?
I have to be honest here; at first glance I thought this novel was going to be confusing. True, at some points it was confusing, but as the novel progresses, the confusion is cleared. The characters are well formed, the plot was consistent, and the writing was very entertaining. The topic of the novel was refreshing. The descriptions were fascinating and the imagery was true and realistic. Isaac Rooks Trailwalker by J.R. Pitts is a goose bump inducing, thrilling tale of epic fantasy that deserves a place on your bookshelf. A good book with the right amount of action and suspense to keep you reading. Thumbs up for a job well done.
