Ill and Sordid Paths: Nightmares of Negligence by Antoine Hooten is a collection of six short stories. Each one is dark, full of suffering, misery and total and utter negligence. Join the boy whose parents don’t like him, who has no friends until he makes a slippery friend. Meet the doctor drawn into underhanded deals that mean more to him than his patients. And the boy from a wealthy southern family who ignores the warnings from his father about old family superstitions. These and three more stories will thrill you, send shivers down your spine and have you shaking in terror as you enter a dark, twisted world of horror.
Ill and Sordid Paths: Nightmares of Negligence is written by a new author to the horror genre, Antoine Hooten. And what an introduction! This is a unique twist on one of the most prolific genres, a dark and twisted look that will hook you while horrifying you, and take you on six short but terrifying stories. Forget the horror stories that introduce you to creatures of nightmares; these stories introduce us to something even more terrifying – the dark side of human nature and the tragedy that we mostly bring on ourselves through negligence. I honestly didn’t think I was going to enjoy this book but, bloodthirsty as it is, twisted as it is, I found myself hauled headfirst into every story, unable to stop reading and strangely fascinated by each story. This is an excellent book, ideal for fans of true horror, of bloodcurdling darkness and tales that leave you chilled.
