How to be a Buddhist Millionaire: 9 Practical Lessons to Being Happy in a Materialist World, by Matt Jardine, is an inspiring self-help book with positive messages. Let's face it. We live in a world that operates on money and what it can bring, but it doesn't have to rule your life, and this book shows you how to strike the perfect balance. If you've always wanted to live a better life, but not a life ruled by materialism, rest assured there is a way, taking lessons from different areas: Buddhist wisdom, spiritual leaders, and people from other walks of life. The secret lies in uncovering your passions and making them work for you, which will bring you success and happiness without greed and materialism. Believe it or not, fear can be attached to money--fear of never having enough, fear of losing it, etc., and Jardine helps you understand and dissolve these fears.
This author offers us information with a personal touch--a book more about more than money. It's a mirror you can hold up to your life to see how money fits into it. Are you ruled by it? Do you stress over it? Is it a conflicting factor in your spiritual walk? In today's uncertain times, this book is the perfect tool to examine what's really important to us deep down. But the author isn't here to shame you for being successful or having money, and he isn't trying to tell you that you can't be a millionaire. Rather, he's helping you understand that success isn't always tied to a dollar sign and that if you put happiness first, success will find you. One of my favorite parts of the book is where the author gives a brief history of money itself, and how it evolved from a time when humans existed and operated without it to the present day when it seems to consume the whole world. One of the practical tips I like is to make a creative space for yourself where you can do your best work. If you're looking for a new way to view money and success, How to be a Buddhist Millionaire by Matt Jardine is a book you don't want to miss.
