Cheryl Guerriero was born and raised in New Jersey and currently lives in Los Angeles. Upon graduating college, her mother insisted she get a job at Prudential Insurance company which was a five-minute drive from their home and get married. Guerriero promptly moved to New York City and became a writer.
After Cheryl received her first check for writing, her parents got off her back about getting a real job. She began her career as a screenwriter and has won numerous awards, but her proudest moment to date was when she was sitting in a Chicago movie theater watching her first produced film, National Lampoon’s Pledge This!, when one fine moviegoer yelled out, “This movie sucks!” Making it even more special was the fact that Cheryl, voted “funniest” in high school, had written the screenplay with a best friend who had been voted “most likely to succeed.” The movie was neither funny, nor successful.
Cheryl continued on her way with writing and saw her next original screenplay Hunting Season, a mystery thriller, make it from the page to the screen. Hunting Season has aired on HBO/Cinemax, Lifetime and numerous TV channels around the globe.
In addition to writing, Cheryl also directed and produced the documentary short My Best Kept Secret and was invited onto the Oprah Winfrey show as a guest to discuss the documentary.
Girl on Point is Cheryl’s debut suspense novel and she hopes you enjoy reading it as much as she enjoyed writing it!

Girl On Point is a fictitious, yet tragic tale, filled with suspense and drama, written by Cheryl Guerriero. After a heated basketball game, seventeen-year-old Alex Campbell hears gun shots nearby. Moments later, as Alex cradles her younger sister’s lifeless body, she regrets sending Jenny to the store for a snack. With Alex’s mother openly blaming her for Jenny’s death and the police screwing up all aspects of the investigation, Alex decides to take action and ‘disappears,’ in order to thrust herself into the lives of the vicious gang suspected of Jenny’s murder. As the new girl, Alex becomes the designated driver, but slowly feels the addictive pull in stealing cars, doing drugs, trying to outrun police, and pocketing the endless cash which seems to run on tap, and more. Her plan is to get her hands on the weapon which killed her sister, irrefutably tying them all to the murder, so she can return home with a clear conscience. But Mark may have different ideas.
One of the most dramatic and emotional books I have read this year, Girl On Point is extremely well-written, showing the aftermath of a horrific crime which changes the lives of all involved. Cheryl Guerriero’s story of a girl struggling with the death of her younger sister, and with the overwhelming guilt that her sister had been in the wrong place at the wrong time at her request, is incredibly powerful on so many levels. I cringed while reading the play by play of each crime that followed, and felt so deeply for Alex as she went through the stages of grief, anger, guilt and self-blame, before vowing to avenge her sister’s death. Watching her parents crumble in front of her could not have been easy, but I felt such a surge of pride in Alex as she risked everything in order to find the truth and get some real justice for her sister. Each chapter carried so many twists and turns, leading up to a shocking ending which left me sobbing. Although much profanity is used in the book, none of which is undue, I thoroughly enjoyed each and every twist and turn in Girl On Point, and recommend it to readers over the age of 16 years who enjoy crime-filled sagas filled with humor, tragedy, family break-down, vengeance, and bloodshed.
