Full Circle is a work of fiction in the interpersonal drama, coming-of-age, and historical drama subgenres. It is suitable for both the adult and young adult reading audiences. Penned by author Daisy Wood, this enchanting novel is set in 1786 in the peaceful countryside of Mere in Wiltshire. The Hamilton family's home, 'The Willows,' holds a secret from the past. Elizabeth Hamilton and her son Stewart have lived there for three generations. When Stewart's cousin Alexander arrives, the house's hidden secret becomes a mystery even to Stewart. The narrative takes a turn when Stewart marries, unleashing chaos and vengeance that lasts for over three years. As secrets are unveiled, the story becomes a tapestry of life-changing revelations, weaving together the lives of the characters.
Author Daisy Wood has crafted a historical narrative that keeps you engaged with its rich characters, offering an atmospheric journey into the intricacies of family secrets and the repercussions of impulsive actions. The setting in 1786 is well-researched and penned in a detailed, immersive fashion that adds layers of quiet authenticity, and the storytelling captures the essence of a time when every action carried weight. I was very impressed by the balance of dialogue, which sounded historically correct but was never alienating or hard for the audience to understand. The revelation of secrets, some positive and others perilous, adds a layer of suspense that keeps the reader invested in the characters' fates, and this is paired with some really emotive speech and thought presentation as we get to know the central cast more and more. Overall, Full Circle is a tale of love, vengeance, and the enduring impact of past decisions, taking readers on an immersive journey through the complexities of family dynamics and the consequences of hidden truths. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
