Fourmi the Ant is a charming children's picture book written and illustrated by Akshita Kakumanu. It tells the story of an ant named Fourmi, who is having problems passing at ant school and becoming an adult. Worried, his mother Hormiga brings him to Dr. Terapeut for counseling. The next day is the last time he’s allowed to take the tests and if he fails, he will be banished to the grass. The ant doctor assures Fourmi that practicing and studying helps and since his sister Formica will also be taking the test, he can practice and learn with her. That night, his mom gives him an entire leaf for dinner. Formica, however, does not want to study with him. Stealing his sister’s leaves of notes, Fourmi tries to practice and study on his own. Will he pass the ant school or will he be banished to the grass forever?

Hop in for a trip into the depths of an ant nest in Akshita Kukumanu's Fourmi the Ant. Here, we meet Fourmi. He is four days old and approaching adulthood. But to become adults, all ants must pass special ant tests, which Fourmi has been struggling with. He didn't pass his digging test or "How to Escape Humans" exam. No matter how hard he tries, he never quite manages to get anything ant-like right. Fourmi doesn't even feel like he deserves his name, "Fourmi," which translates to "the ant" because he doesn't feel like one. Even worse, he might be banished to the grass if he fails the tests again. Worried about her son's future, Fourmi's mother takes him to Dr. Terapeut for therapy. Will it help solve Fourmi's troubles?

First, I must commend the author on this wonderful children's story because it is one of the best I've read recently. The concept is engaging, and the setting is reminiscent of my favorite childhood animated movie, Antz. You connect with Fourmi throughout the adventure as all scenes are seen through his eyes. Even more exciting are the delightful illustrations that complement the text. They are so creative that they vividly capture the characters' fears, anger, and joy and excellently depict the underground setting. There is even a picture where Fourmi is practicing a digging strategy through the soil. Readers can easily follow the course of the story through the images.

Added to this book's fascinating adventures are the incredible lessons children and adults can draw from Fourmi's experiences. Akshita Kukumanu sends a message about the importance of hard work, friendship, and not giving ups. Ants are animals rarely seen in literature, particularly children's literature, which makes Fourmi the Ant even more authentic. It's a must-read for children who love adventure.

Fourmi the Ant by Akshita Kakumanu shares the perspective of Fourmi, a young ant who has failed the ant tests twice. He feels as though he is never going to pass and that his failure means that he is not a real ant. Dr. Terapeut, an ant therapist, assesses the situation by asking Fourmi and his mother several questions. The doctor tries to determine if Fourmi’s problems with passing the test are from insufficient sleep, low self-esteem, nutrition, insufficient study time, or a combination of one or more of those issues. The doctor explains his thoughts to Fourmi in an effort to help him through his problem and possibly have a chance at passing the ant tests.

Fourmi the Ant by Akshita Kakumanu is an adorable story full of the emotional and psychological issues that young children and young adults face today. The main character, Fourmi, doesn’t feel like he is a real ant because he hasn’t been able to pass the tests after trying so hard to do so. This plot conveys a wonderful message to children that will help them validate their emotions in similar situations. The guide and comfort of Dr. Terpeut is a beautiful parallel character that will allow the reader to understand the importance of seeking professional help during a time of personal crisis. I highly recommend Fourmi the Aunt to anyone with children. Kakumanu has written a story that will encourage kids to try harder and ask for help when they feel lost. I look forward to reading many more stories by this brilliant author.

Passing exams is never easy. But they are even more difficult when you're low on self-esteem. Akshita Kakumanu's Fourmi the Ant follows a tiny young ant named Fourmi, who struggles to live up to his parents' expectations and pass his exams to become a true, fully certified ant. When he fails to pass the tests on how to escape humans, digging, and carrying big things, his mother takes Fourmi to Dr. Terapeut, hoping to instill some sense into the willful little ant. However, Fourmi isn't too impressed with the doctor. But now, after being threatened to be banished to the grass, Fourmi must find a way to pass his tests. Although unsupportive of Fourmi's plans, his younger sister Formica keeps a bunch of notes in her room. Will they help Fourmi pass his tests and become a true ant?

Akshita Kakumanu's colorful picture book gently reminds us that one should never give up on our dreams and to keep working hard despite suffering some failures along the way. Fourmi the Ant is a fun-filled adventure story in which kids will find plenty to love. With quirky characters and a humor-filled narrative, Kakumanu tells an entertaining tale about a mischievous ant overcoming the odds, to finally become what he was always destined to be. Apart from the story itself, it's the witty dialogue that makes this story such a treat to read, and I feel children will have a blast with this one. So, grab a copy of Fourmi the Ant and learn to rise above your failures.
