Black’s character driven stories rarely turn out the way the reader would expect. Her short stories have won several awards, including the 2022 Grand Prize for the RRBC 90-Day Alpha/Omega Short Story Writing Contest and Top Finalist in the KCT International Literary Awards. Since 2021, she has been the editor of the RRBC Pipeline Magazine, a bi-monthly publication of the Rave Reviews Book Club.

Black lives in the United States with her husband, and two alien creatures disguised as cats. One of them, her muse, is rumored to be ET’s second cousin. The rumor, however, has not been confirmed.
