The Tracing: Secrets Within by Gordon E. Wolf is a science fiction novel with threads of conspiracy, thriller, and psychological intrigue. The story follows Jack Shaw, a molecular scientist. He was surprised when he was called to the CDC headquarters in Atlanta to continue research that shocked him to his core. He and another young scientist, William Dupont, worked together on the project when they made the shattering discovery: DNA holds memories and echoes of the experiences of our ancestors. Together, they created The Tracing device with the help of the enigmatic Johan van de Kamp. As the device gained the praise of the masses and enjoyed success, Jack and William found out the real reason why they were called to the headquarters and continued the research. Before they knew it, they were racing against time and powerful enemies to protect The Tracing device and the promise it holds.
The story was fantastic, to say the least. I loved the mystery, and the themes of thriller and conspiracy hooked me from the very beginning. The novel delves into the fascinating concept of genetic memory and how DNA can hold more than just biological information. I found the concept to be unique and powerful, giving life to the story. I loved Jack and his tenacious ability to fight for what he thought was right. While the narrative was fast-paced and filled to the brim with action, it was the vivid descriptions and the remarkable storyline that had me wanting more. The introduction of Johan van de Kamp, a larger-than-life mogul, added an extra layer of tension and drama that made me enjoy the story even more. Author Gordon E. Wolf made sure readers were with Jack and William until the end. This is the perfect novel for readers who enjoy cutting-edge technology, high-paced action, and strong characters. Highly recommended!
