Timothy Doyle is the author of the new YA fantasy novel Faces in the Mist: A Jacob Turner Chronicle. Storytelling has long been a passion of his. Over the years, he was seemingly surrounded by artists and entrepreneurs who were constantly creating and inventing, so Tim finally decided it was time to put his own talents on display. Once security politely escorted him from the 2011 NFL Combine, he decided it was time to move onto Plan B -- writing. For Tim, writing is an immersive art that gives him the opportunity to view the world through a different lens.
When he isn't writing, Tim spends most of his time in the kitchen or in his garage completing woodworking projects that make Ikea furniture seem sturdy. He lives in Denver, CO with his wife Kate and he enjoys running, biking, skiing, hiking--or at least he thinks he'd enjoy those things. He's usually too busy writing to do them. Tim is also an advocate for other writers who are looking to fulfill their dreams of publication. He firmly believes that the art of storytelling is one that needs to be supported.

Faces in the Mist: A Jacob Turner Chronicle is a paranormal fantasy for young adults and preteens written by Timothy C Doyle. Twelve-year-old Jacob knew he had to be back home and ready to eat by 6:00 pm that day. His father would be home for only the one night, and his mother had deliberately impressed upon him her insistence on his being home by that particular time. He and his pals spent most of the afternoon hanging out, but then Jeff started talking about something his older brother, Ray, had told him. Ray and his friends had gone into the old Stanley Mill, which had a reputation for being haunted. It had been around since the 1700s, and had finally closed down in the 1970s after a series of bizarre accidents. Ray had even told Jeff how to get in through a part of the fence that could be propped up. Jacob knew it was a bad idea. It would take too long to get there, and he was already running a bit late, but Jeff and Bub were keen on the idea. They already figured they'd go even further in than Ray and his friends had before they chickened out. And Jacob finally, if reluctantly, agreed. It was a decision that would change his entire life.
Timothy C. Doyle's paranormal coming of age novel, Faces in the Mist: A Jacob Turner Chronicle, starts with the three friends as they explore a very spooky old mill, and it just gets better from there. This is a fast-paced and exciting story that follows Jacob as he learns about his family's special gifts and their inclusion in the powerful nine families. Suddenly, getting home by a certain time is the least of his worries, and Jacob must learn to adapt to the rigorous training schedule set up by Carver, his mentor and trainer at the safe house where he's been secreted. I particularly enjoyed following Jacob as he trains with Carver's three wolf-dogs and learns how to harness and control his ability to manipulate energy. This is a tightly plotted and well-written story that is fun to read from start to finish. I'm looking forward to further Jacob Turner Chronicles. Faces in the Mist is highly recommended.
