E.P. Marcellin attended Houghton College for a BA in Creative Writing with a minor in Art. Born in the USA, she spent most of her childhood in western Africa.
Her family moved back to the USA during her teenage years. As time passed, she remained an avid traveler and book enthousiast. She found inspiration for Element Keepers while visiting Ste. Lucia for a wedding. Later on, her travels through Italy and Morroco also fueled her creativity, providing the final touches to the story.
Today, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and artwork, when her little children give her the time. The growing family lives in Canada, where her husband works as a commercial pilot.

The Element Keepers by E. P. Marcellin is a fascinating tale full of magic and different races. The writing is flawless and superb. I really enjoyed the journey that Marcellin took me on through the pages of her book. A great storyteller, she kept me glued to the pages, making it hard to stop to let reality take over my life.
Rhet, the main character, and his friend, Peteal, are as physically different from each other as a fish and a crocodile, yet they have been together since birth. Rhet’s parents died when he was very young, and Peteal’s parents raised them both. Now in their early twenties, both work at the fishery, a place where everyone makes his or her living from the ocean. Life is good until the day a boat docks with the most beautiful women they have ever known.
The Y’dah is a race of women that have lived their entire lives waiting for a prophecy to come to pass. They are ruled by seniority, although sometimes the more powerful ones have privileges due to their abilities. They weave the air into intricate patterns invisible to the naked eye, yet this grants the Y’dah every wish they have. Now they must find one who is more powerful than they are to save them from an impending doom.
I really like the tidbit of history or wisdom placed at the beginning of each chapter. It is a refreshing way of introducing the next piece of this tale. It is well written and very entertaining. It could very well be a YA book that appeals to the adult fantasy lover. Good job.
