D’mok Revival: Descension is an entertaining book based on a group of space aliens. Led by their team leader Rhysus Mencari, this interesting squad pools their various abilities to fight the evil Nukari. This intergalactic war is of supreme significance to Mencari. Eons ago on his home base, he lost his son and partner as a result of the invasion of the Nukari. This war was therefore personal to him. Just before this present war began, Mencari was patrolling outer space when he stumbled upon a portal. He found himself on a new planet called Alo. He finally met other aliens like himself with D’mok abilities. D’mok aliens can be transformed into light energy and they can also read minds. Mencari was able to find his way back to his spaceship, taking Speru with him. Speru was a young cadet with enhanced D’mok abilities.

D’mok Revival: Descension is filled with lots of action. I love the detailed descriptions of the various aliens and their unique abilities. The pace is a bit slow at first but it picks up as the action unfolds. I love the pervasive theme of good versus evil. I believe that the author did an excellent job displaying this theme throughout the book. The language used is semi-formal and is easy to understand. I love the contrast between the good and bad aliens. This increases the suspense of the novel. It also spurs on the reader to dig in deeper and root for the good guys. I surely did! I also enjoyed the sense of camaraderie among the members of the winning team. This proves that, no matter what planet you are from, it is better when you get along with your team mates. Overall, I was impressed with the book. Author Michael Zummo was able to capture my attention with his vivid masterpiece. I recommend it to all lovers of space anthologies.

D’mok Revival: Descension is the third book of The Invasion Trilogy sci-fi fiction by Michael Zummo. Rhysus Mencari’s battle with the Nukari continues. He found a mentor and mastered his superhuman D’mok abilities, gathered comrades in arms, and keeps finding ways to stop the Nukari once and for all. However, it’s a weary battle - the Nukari is a relentless nemesis and hard to deal with. Unexpectedly, while investigating the new planet Alo, Rhysus meets with other aliens that could provide much needed help in fighting the enemy. The question is, will they even consider his request for aid?

I've been following the series since the first book and I’m very pleased with the continuation and the plot development of the story. I absolutely love the cover art for the third installment, a highly commendable work by illustrator Glenn Clovis. As for author Michael Zummo, he keeps getting better as the series continues. His engaging and easily imaginable storytelling style is appealing, imbuing his story with scores of action scenes, fascinating alien planets, advanced technologies and memorable characters. Zummo already has a fourth in the works, which is great news for the fans of the series. I certainly look forward to what the new, self-appointed Nukari admiral, Kajlit’ga, plans to do. The most decorated officer in the Nukari fleet, Kajlit’ga is a villain with some admirable qualities; confident, ambitious and, most importantly, intelligent. Simply put, an enjoyable read and the series is a most welcome addition to any home library.

Author Michael Zummo once more entices readers to enter a world filled with the strife of intergalactic war. Readers are reunited with Rhysus Mencari and watch as he attempts to destroy the Nukari. Rhysus knows winning the war will not be easy for he has already lost all that was precious to him. Rhysus found himself stranded in space due to an anomaly that sucked all the energy from his ship; the anomaly was a rift that led to another area of space. He knew that he should wait for his team to inspect the rift but curiosity got the better of him and, with a burst of speed, he shot through the rift and landed on a planet called Alo. On the planet, he met aliens with the same type of superpowers that he possesses. Despite the fact that he finally felt he had found a place where he fitted in, he must flee and take young Speru with him. Upon returning to his ship, Rhysus and his crew continue battling the Nukari.

D'mok Revival: Descension is the third book in the D’mok Revival series by Michael Zummo and it is a must-read for fans of science fiction. For me, the characters are the best part of this series. Rhysus is a fantastic hero who I found myself cheering on. I love the character of Kajlit’ga, even though she is a villain. Another thing that stands out in this book is the descriptions. I could see the Gizel beasts with their sharp bony plates, retractable claws and fanged snouts, and the bird woman able to control with a gaze. D'mok Revival: Descension caught my attention from the prologue and held it to the end. I do recommend reading the whole series for true sci-fi fans will want to savor every word of this trilogy.

D'mok Revival: Descension by Michael Zummo takes us back into the exciting world of the D'mok. The invasion of Nukari changed the life of Rhysus Mencari forever and beyond what he ever could have imagined. It took time, but after working with Osuto he was able to begin to understand and harness his abilities and bring them to purpose among the new group of D'mok warriors assembled to take on the Nukari invaders. The Nukari, however, will not take this lying down; instead they move along with their allies to decimate the new D'mok warriors. Who will win in this epic battle?

Another fantastic and stunning installment of the Invasion Trilogy by Michael Zummo. I have had the pleasure of delving into this world for the first books and I found that this third installment did not disappoint. The pacing is perfect and again I am thrilled and taken into the detail of this world. I can see the story of the world, the real struggle that the D'mok face to take on the Nukari. I can't say I enjoy the Nukari at all, but in a way that you aren't supposed to like an invading force, as bad guys they are well formed and well written. If you like good science fiction and a world that you can see has been created from passion and love, you will enjoy this book and the entire trilogy with it. I read this book from cover to cover and was sad when it was over. I was lost in the pages and would love to return!
