Sammy Green was studying communications at Ellsford College in Vermont. She was the host of a talk show “The Hot Line.” The show aired on the school’s radio station and had an anything goes attitude; it was quite popular.
When Sammy found the body of Dr. Burton Conrad, the police suspected suicide. Sammy wasn’t so sure and began to investigate the death. A student commits suicide and another disappears, Sammy knows something is not right. The students had been seeing Dr. Conrad at the health clinic. He was working on a secret research project.
The suspense slowly builds to a crescendo. There is a Reverend proclaiming sin and corruption. An arsonist sets fire to the radio station. Everyone is a suspect. The characters are well developed, especially Sammy. There is an air of mystery to the secondary characters. This is a fast paced novel that is difficult to lay down. Fans of mystery will enjoy “Dead Air.”
