Dangerous Ally by Jessica Lauryn is a suspense romance novel that will appeal to lovers of dark hero stories. Top New York Times journalist Lilah was recruited by Raphael Ramone as his undercover executive assistant. Her duty was to find and steal his son’s corrupt Project Gemstone business. The possibility of breaking a story about the Ramones’ secrets and winning a Pulitzer prize motivated her to take the job. When she met Raphael’s son, it was hate at first sight between the two. He wasn’t deceived by the executive assistant facade, and he vowed to take them down before he lost his business. Lilah and Lucas will begin a seductive game of cat and mouse, with Raphael pulling the strings in the background. Who will come out the victor?
Dangerous Ally by Jessica Lauryn was a very interesting novel with plenty of action. It was fast-paced and evoked a cocktail of emotions in me. The suspense that laced the story kept me on the edge of my seat for the longest time. I still can’t fathom how far a person will go to ruin what they have in the name of holding onto power. Jessica is a brilliant storyteller, and it was clear in this novel. The plot was unique with twists and unending turns. All the characters were authentic, unpredictable, and well developed, showing the level of creativity that Jessica possesses. I enjoyed reading this book, which is an installment in its series. I give her a thumbs up on this one.
